Haizheng Zhang is a technical staff member at Microsoft Live Search Division. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2006. His advisor was Dr. Victor Lesser. Between Microsoft and UMass, he was a postdoctoral research associate at College of Information Science and Technology, Penn State University, working with Dr. John Yen, Dr. Lee Giles, and Dr. Henry C. Foley.

He has broad interests in many research areas such as Machine learning and social networks, Information retrieval, Multiagent systems and E-commerce Systems. Most recently, he has developed interests in auction market mechanism design and sponsored search research.
